Lead Practice Nurse
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and forward\-thinking Lead Practice Nurse / Nurse Manager to lead our established nursing team and play a key role in shaping the future of our clinical services.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident clinical leader who is passionate about delivering high\-quality patient care while supporting, developing and inspiring others.
Working closely with the GP Partners and Practice Management Team, you will provide operational and professional leadership for the nursing workforce, ensuring safe, effective and evidence\-based care across all nursing services.
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will continue to provide expert clinical care within your scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, supervision and day\-to\-day management of the nursing team.
- Conduct appraisals, support professional development and oversee mandatory training.
- Lead on clinical governance, quality improvement and nursing policies.
- Ensure nursing services meet CQC standards and national guidance.
- Support workforce planning, recruitment and induction of new staff.
- Develop and review clinical protocols and patient pathways.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, the Practice Manager and wider multidisciplinary teams.
- Deliver high\-quality clinical care, including long\-term condition management, cervical screening, immunisations and other practice nurse duties appropriate to your qualifications.
- Lead service development and identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes.
You will be:
- A Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- An experienced Practice Nurse with significant primary care experience.
- An effective leader with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Passionate about staff development and delivering high\-quality patient care.
- Able to work autonomously while contributing positively to the wider practice team.
- Current NMC registration.
- Extensive experience working in General Practice.
- Experience managing long\-term conditions.
- Experience leading or supervising clinical staff.
- Knowledge of clinical governance, infection prevention and quality improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Independent Prescriber qualification.
- Chronic disease management qualifications.
- Cervical Cytology qualification.
- Immunisation and vaccination training.
- Mentorship or teaching qualification.
- Experience preparing for or supporting CQC inspections.
