Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and committed Advanced Nurse Practitioner for Derby Family Medical Centre to work as part of the clinical team and support the delivery high level care for our patients. Experience of independent working in primary care and having a prescribing qualification is essential.
You will be working as part of a primary care team that prides itself on the delivery of high quality healthcare services. You will be well supported by senior GPs as well as a friendly and enthusiastic admin team.
Duties
In this role you will work independently, making professional, autonomous decisions.
- You will be responsible for making any necessary referrals, requests for investigations and do these in in an appropriate manner and timescale.
- The role will involve initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan and evaluation of patient care.

- The role will involve independent prescribing within the scope of professional practice.
- The advanced nurse practitioner will support the GP team managing same day appointment requests from patients.
- The nurse practitioner will need to prioritise and triage the needs of patients accordingly, seeking GP input as appropriate where the problem lies outside their professional capability.
- You will demonstrate safe clinical decision making and a high level of independent care including assessment, diagnostic and prescribing skills.
- You will attend patients with urgent medical problems
\- Bachelor's degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner qualification
\- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
\-Prescriber
\- Proven experience in a similar role demonstrating anatomy knowledge and patient care skills
\- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
\- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
