Working pattern
We are looking for a Lead Dental Hygiene Therapist to provide the following regular sessions:
- Monday – half day
- Friday – half day
- Every other Saturday – half day
All agreed clinical and leadership hours will be paid at the hourly rate. This is an in\-person position with no remote\-working requirement.
The opportunity
Re\-Ignite Dental is seeking an experienced, ambitious and clinically driven Lead Dental Hygienist/Therapist to lead the development of our hygiene, periodontal and preventive\-care service.
You will combine hands\-on clinical care with responsibility for improving clinical standards, patient pathways, team development and the long\-term growth of the department.
You will work closely with the Principal Dentist and Practice Manager to create a consistent, evidence\-based approach to periodontal stabilisation, prevention, implant maintenance and restorative therapy.
This is a genuine clinical leadership role with the opportunity to help shape and eventually grow a wider hygiene and therapy team.

Our treatments include clear aligners, composite bonding, porcelain veneers, dental implants and full\-mouth rehabilitation.
We take a prevention\-led approach to care. Periodontal stability is an essential part of every appropriate cosmetic, restorative and implant treatment journey.
Your clinical responsibilities
Depending on your qualifications, training and individual competence, you will:
- Provide routine and advanced dental hygiene care
- Complete comprehensive periodontal assessments and charting
- Deliver non\-surgical periodontal therapy and root surface debridement
- Provide supportive periodontal therapy and long\-term maintenance
- Provide implant maintenance and preventive care
- Carry out professional stain removal, scaling and polishing
- Deliver personalised oral\-hygiene and dietary advice
- Stabilise patients before cosmetic, restorative, orthodontic and implant treatment
- Support patients with long\-term maintenance following treatment
- Apply fluoride varnish and fissure sealants where appropriate
- Support prescribed tooth\-whitening treatment
- Complete direct restorations within your Dental Therapist scope and competence
- Take radiographs where qualified and clinically indicated
- Maintain accurate, detailed and compliant clinical records
- Recognise findings requiring further assessment and refer appropriately
- Work collaboratively with dentists, nurses and the wider clinical team
As Lead Dental Hygienist/Therapist, you will help take ownership of the hygiene, periodontal and therapy service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing consistent hygiene and periodontal care pathways
- Helping standardise periodontal assessment, diagnosis\-support and maintenance protocols
- Ensuring appropriate handovers between dentists, hygienists, therapists and nurses
- Improving the pre\-treatment stabilisation pathway for cosmetic, restorative and implant patients
- Developing structured implant\-maintenance and supportive periodontal programmes
- Monitoring the quality and consistency of clinical records
- Supporting clinical audits and quality\-improvement projects
- Reviewing patient outcomes and identifying opportunities to improve care
- Helping maintain appropriate appointment lengths and efficient clinical workflows
- Supporting diary planning and appropriate utilisation of hygiene and therapy sessions
- Improving recall, rebooking and continuity\-of\-care systems
- Helping create patient information, post\-treatment instructions and preventive resources
- Supporting the selection and maintenance of appropriate clinical materials and equipment
- Contributing to clinical meetings and multidisciplinary treatment planning
- Supporting the recruitment and clinical onboarding of future hygienists and therapists
- Mentoring future members of the hygiene and therapy team
- Helping establish clear clinical standards and performance expectations across the department
- Acting as a positive clinical role model for the wider team
Clinical mentoring and development
The successful candidate will receive direct mentorship from Dr Imran Nisar, Principal Dentist, whose postgraduate training includes aesthetic restorative dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, implant dentistry and an MSc in Prosthodontics with Distinction.
Development opportunities will include:
- Anterior and posterior composite restorations
- Composite edge bonding and additive restorative techniques
- Smile assessment and aesthetic treatment planning
- Photography and digital smile\-planning workflows
- Restorative treatment sequencing
- Periodontal preparation before bonding, veneers and implant treatment
- Clear\-aligner supporting workflows
- Placement and removal of aligner attachments where appropriately trained, prescribed and indemnified
- Intraoral scanning and digital records
- Whitening and minimally invasive smile\-enhancement pathways
- Long\-term maintenance of cosmetic and implant cases
- Multidisciplinary case discussions with the treating clinicians
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will be:
- Qualified and GDC registered as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist
- Fully indemnified to practise in the UK
- Experienced in private hygiene and periodontal care
- Confident delivering non\-surgical periodontal treatment
- Interested in working across their full Dental Therapist scope
- Keen to develop further in composite, cosmetic and aligner\-supporting workflows
- Clinically thorough and committed to evidence\-based care
- An excellent communicator with a caring, patient\-centred manner
- Confident supporting and mentoring other team members
- Comfortable contributing to clinical protocols, audits and service development
- Reliable, organised and consistent
- Thorough with clinical records and governance
- Able to work collaboratively across complex multidisciplinary cases
- Eligible to work in the UK
