Job Description:
SR Apprenticeships is a national Apprenticeship training provider working with over 130 employers across the UK. We partner with forward‑thinking, people‑centred organisations who prioritise developing their workforce. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a passionate, learner‑driven L\&D and HR Skills Coach to join our Apprenticeship Delivery team, delivering programmes up to Level 5\.
Whether you are already a qualified Skills Coach or are an experienced L\&D or HR professional looking to move into education, SR Apprenticeships will support and develop you to achieve your career goals.
This is a hybrid role, with the ability to work from home and travel to meet learners as required.
Main roles \& responsibilities:
As a Skills Coach your focus will be to support your learners to reach their maximum potential through effective teaching, coaching and learning. You will be their main point of contact for teaching and training, as well as information, advice and guidance. You will be there to motivate and guide them through their Apprenticeship training. This is a hybrid role; you will be home based with an expectation to visit learners occasionally.
- Deliver engaging online workshops and group sessions covering L\&D and HR topics such as L\&D practice, HR fundamentals, people management, organisational performance, and workplace behaviours.
- Provide regular 1‑to‑1 coaching, supporting apprentices with goal‑setting, reflective practice, progress monitoring, and overcoming learning barriers.
- Support learners with their on‑the‑job activities and projects, helping them apply theory to real workplace scenarios including training needs analysis, learning design and delivery, HR support tasks, and people‑focused process improvements.
- Manage a caseload of apprentices, guiding them through their full programme, including any required professional qualifications, through to Gateway and successful End Point Assessment.
- Conduct structured progress reviews (including 12‑weekly reviews) with learners and their line managers to monitor development and ensure alignment with apprenticeship Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours.
- Provide high‑quality, constructive feedback on assessments, portfolios, observations, and workplace evidence to support readiness for achievement and EPA.
- Deliver remote teaching, coaching, and assessment via virtual learning platforms, ensuring sessions are interactive, supportive, and aligned to curriculum plans.
- Build positive, professional relationships with employers and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and a strong learner experience.
- Promote inclusive learning by adapting teaching and coaching methods to meet diverse learner needs and encouraging self‑assessment and personal development.
- Identify learning challenges quickly and provide effective solutions to remove barriers and maintain learner progress.
- Monitor learner performance using internal systems and data to identify at‑risk learners and implement timely support strategies.
- Facilitate the enhancement of work performance, self‑directed learning, and professional growth.
- Provide Maths and English support where needed to help learners achieve required Functional Skills.
- Ensure Safeguarding, PREVENT, British Values, Health \& Safety, Wellbeing, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are fully embedded and upheld across all aspects of delivery.
What you bring:
Essential
- Level 5 CIPD qualification (or equivalent HR/L\&D qualification)
- Significant industry experience in L\&D, HR, organisational development or people management
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Assessor Award (CAVA/TAQA, A1, D32/33\)
- Teaching qualification (PTLLS/AET or equivalent)
- Experience delivering apprenticeships or professional qualifications
- Understanding of EPA requirements, apprenticeship standards, or curriculum delivery
