Kitchen Staff

It is the Catering Assistant’s responsibilities to help with the day to day running of the nursery kitchen. In general, they must have a holistic view of the nursery and maintain a happy and safe environment. The catering assistant must remain loyal to the company and report any concerns to the Manager. Above all, the catering assistant must work in a professional way, displaying positive ness, integrity and calm assurance at all times. The catering manager must work in line with the legal requirements set within the food safety agency. The catering assistant must always be aware of their role of responsibility which will include the following:

DUTIES

1\. Kitchen

(a) To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and provision in accordance with Health and Safety standards, recommended by the Food safety standard including all equipment, appliances, surfaces and storage.

(b) To complete paperwork required to ensure the safety of the kitchen is priority

(c) To assist the catering manager in the preparation of all food

(d) To step into the role of the catering manager his/her absence

2\. Staff

(a) To ensure full uniform is always worn

(b) Ensure all staff maintain high standards, carry out spot checks and take appropriate action

3\. Managerial

(a) Responsible for stock control, rotation and ordering of all products

(b) Menu planning, ensuring a good, well balanced nutritional selection is provided catering for all needs

4\. Nursery

(a) Ensure all nursery polices are read and understood

(b) Undertake any further training that is required in order to for the nursery assistant to fulfil their job role

(c) Notify management of any personal changes that affect your ability or suitability to work at Little Rascals

Any other duties required
