Junior Jewellery Designer / CAD Designer

The Role

This is a hands\-on, creative design position working closely with our design, production and workshop teams.

We are looking for someone who can take an idea from an initial concept through to a design that can ultimately be manufactured in our Birmingham factory.

The role will include:

• Developing concepts for new jewellery, cufflinks, signet rings and luxury accessories


• Producing sketches, illustrations and design presentations


• Creating and developing designs using CAD


• Working with our craftspeople and production team to ensure designs can be successfully manufactured


• Developing new collections as well as one\-off bespoke commissions


• Creating visuals and concepts to help communicate ideas internally and to customers


• Researching jewellery, fashion, luxury and wider design trends


• Working collaboratively with the wider Deakin \& Francis team

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with a strong creative eye and genuine enthusiasm for design.

Essential:

• Good CAD design skills


• Strong creative and conceptual ability


• Ability to develop an idea from initial concept through to finished design


• Good attention to detail


• Strong communication skills


• A positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team


• Organised and able to manage several projects at once

Desirable:

• Experience with Adobe Illustrator


• Jewellery or product design experience


• An interest in jewellery, fashion, luxury goods or accessories


• Understanding of jewellery manufacturing techniques


• Experience producing renders or presentation visuals

Previous jewellery industry experience would be an advantage, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in finding someone with strong design ability, creativity and the willingness to learn.

We want someone who enjoys coming up with ideas and seeing them turned into real products.

Deakin \& Francis is a relatively small business, so being a team player is extremely important. You will work directly with designers, craftspeople, production and management, and we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, approachable and happy to get involved.

Salary: £25,000–£30,000 depending on experience.

Pay: £25,420\.00\-£30,000\.00 per year
