Joiner/Carpenter

We are looking for a skilled Shepherd’s Hut Maker, Carpenter, Joiner or Woodworker to join our team in our growing workshop team. This is a hands\-on role for someone with experience in carpentry, joinery, woodworking, bench joinery, workshop production, bespoke build work, assembly and finishing.

We are Red Sky Shepherd’s Huts, a family business in the heart of the Cotswolds, designing and building bespoke shepherd’s huts. We were founded by a father and son team and have grown from there, and now our team includes craftspeople, paint finishers and designers who create handcrafted huts full of character.

This is a practical, workshop\-based role where you will work under the supervision of our Production Manager and Founders to help build high\-quality bespoke shepherd’s huts. The role is full\-time and permanent, sits within Production, and is a role were you will have exposure to all areas of production.

About the role

We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in quality workmanship and enjoys creating something tangible and well made. You will be involved in the build of our huts from raw materials through to finished product, helping us maintain the standards our business is known for.

What you will be doing

• Accurately cutting wood using woodworking tools and machinery


• Carrying out assembly work, including some heavy lifting


• Painting using both brushes and spray equipment


• Working to a daily production schedule


• Handling and unpacking stock deliveries


• Keeping workstations clean, tidy and organised


• Assisting with hut deliveries and occasional site work


• Supporting the training and development of employees where needed

• Experience in carpentry and/or joinery


• Strong practical ability and good attention to detail


• A positive, enthusiastic attitude


• Someone reliable, hard\-working and comfortable working as part of a close\-knit team


• Additional practical skills such as plumbing, electrics, tiling or floor laying would be useful
