IT Systems Engineer

£39,058 per annum

35 Hours per week

Applications are invited for the role of IT Systems Engineer, a key position within the College’s IT Support Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the College’s IT network infrastructure, as well as a range of critical systems including Office365, storage, cloud services, and IP telephony.

You will also provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support via the IT Helpdesk, acting as an escalation point for complex or high\-level issues that require advanced troubleshooting and problem\-solving skills.

Essential Criteria:

• Educated to HNC level or equivalent (SCQF Level 7\)


• Strong knowledge of computer networking, server virtualisation, Microsoft Office 365, Azure, Active Directory, System Centre, and IP telephony


• Demonstrated experience in a technical support environment


• Self\-motivated, with excellent communication skills


• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Hands\-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or other networking hardware


• Solid understanding of firewalls, switches, and VPN technologies


• Familiarity with Office365, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft SharePoint


• Professional certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL, or CompTIA

Although Coatbridge is the main campus regular travel to all College campuses is required.
