The Role
This is an exciting Team Lead opportunity in MOA/Frailty and Stroke physiotherapy services within University Hospital Monklands. The role requires an enthusiastic and forward thinking individual with a focus on quality service delivery and a service improvement approach.
This role would incorporate our Stroke rehab team who work in a designated stroke unit, our MOA team who provide inpatient rehabilitation across two MOA rehabilitation wards, and we also have a designated front door Frailty Assessment Unit. The post holder will work strategically within the Frailty/MOA/Stroke Specialty Groups in NHSL to deliver workplan objectives. Successful candidates will work within a collaborative team, benefit from ongoing professional development, and contribute to service improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes.
There is also a requirement to participate in the evening/weekend on call rota.
In this key role, you will:
- Manage the team within your care group area as delegated by the care group lead, including chairing regular team meetings.
- Delegate appropriate tasks and supervise more junior staff (as per organisational chart) to maximise efficiency and ensure the delivery of best practice this would include day to day allocation and reallocation of staff and tasks to meet ever changing service demands.
- To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work including direct and indirect patient care
- To assess capacity gain valid consent and have the ability to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent.
- Actively develop, implement and participate within the teams in\-service training programme to promote own personal development and that of the staff
- Ensure that a comprehensive in\-service training programme is provided in the speciality and provide specialist physiotherapy input to the in\-service programme
- Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
