Summary
Responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, inventory management, inbound and outbound logistics. This role ensures efficient storage, handling, and transport of goods while maintaining accuracy, safety and cost control across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day\-to\-day warehouse operations including goods\-in, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
Commercially minded and oversee inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely delivery to customers and sites, including vehicle type.
Maintain accurate inventory.
Optimise warehouse layout and material flow for efficiency and space utilisation.
Coordinate with production, purchasing, and planning teams to align stock and delivery schedules.
Manage transport logistics, consolidating and streamline,
Monitor and control logistics and warehouse costs, including labour and transport.
Ensure compliance with health \& safety regulations and safe working practices.
Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff, including supervisors and operatives
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, damages, or delivery issues.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives, Kanbans, PI counts to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Key Skills and Competencies
Strong leadership and team management skills
In\-depth knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics processes within a fast\-paced manufacturing business.
Experience with WMS/ERP systems.
Excellent organisational and problem\-solving skills.
Understanding of inventory control and stock management techniques.
Knowledge of transport planning and distribution networks.
Strong communication and coordination abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
Proven experience in warehouse and logistics management, within a growing business.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of inventory systems and logistics operations.
Familiarity with health \& safety regulations (e.g., manual handling, forklift operations)
Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business (preferred)
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Inventory accuracy and achieving/ maintaining optimum stock levels.
On\-time delivery and dispatch performance.
Warehouse productivity (pick rates, order accuracy)
RFT.
Transport cost per delivery
Space utilisation and efficiencyce.'
Pay: £50,000\.00 per year
