Hours of work: 16\.25 per week.

Working pattern: Part\-time, term\-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5\.65 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

As the position is part\-time/term\-time only, the above salary will be pro rata.

Fixed term for: until August 2027\.

About the Role

The Skylark Federation is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Individual Needs Assistant (INA) to join our welcoming and friendly team at Iford and Kingston CE Primary School.

This rewarding position will primarily involve working closely with one child, supporting their learning, emotional regulation, and engagement with the curriculum. You will help create a nurturing, inclusive environment where they can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver tailored support as part of the team, adapting learning into small, achievable steps and using visual structures to reduce anxiety.

  • Provide emotional regulation support through daily check‑ins, co‑regulation, and trauma‑informed approaches.

  • Follow the child’s personalised regulation plan, supporting de‑escalation and restorative conversations

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent, high‑quality support.

  • Support predictability and transitions by preparing the child for changes and offering enhanced guidance during unstructured times.

Build strong relationships with parents/carers and colleagues to promote the child’s well‑being and progress.
  • Training \& Support
Full training and ongoing support will be provided, including guidance in trauma‑informed practice, emotional regulation strategies, and SEN approaches. A genuine passion for working with young children and those with additional needs is essential.

Hours

8\.30am – 12\.00pm, term time only.

Start Date: As soon as possible.
