Job Summary
We are offering a unique opportunity to join UniGreenScheme as an HR Manager at a pivotal stage in our growth. With a team of over 35 across two sites and ambitious plans for further expansion, we are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and strategic HR professional to help build the foundations of our people function as we transition from a small business into a medium\-sized organisation.
The contracted hours for this position are between 37\.5 and 40 hours per week, with the opportunity for overtime and some working from home. Salary is £17\.00 \- £20\.00 per hour, depending on experience. This position will be subjected to a 6\-month probationary period.

About the Role:
This role is a highly dynamic HR Manager position – helping to professionalise, standardise, and lead HR processes across the business as we continue to grow.
HR is currently managed by the founders and wider management team. We are now ready to create a more structured and consistent HR function that supports our team, protects the business, and helps maintain the high standards that have enabled our growth.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high\-growth company at a key point in its development. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the HR function, improve existing processes, and help build the foundations required for the next stage of the business.
The role will include higher\-level HR tasks such as writing and reviewing policies, supporting managers, handling HR issues, understanding employment and contract matters, and helping to create fair and consistent processes across the company.
As this is currently a standalone HR role, the successful candidate must also be willing to complete practical HR administration. This may include reviewing monthly time logs, dealing with leave requests, supporting rota and schedule queries, investigating sickness absence, and maintaining HR records.
There may also be occasional requirements to support time\-sensitive HR matters outside normal office hours, such as sickness notifications. The exact expectations for this would be discussed during interview.
About You:
We are looking for a hard\-working and committed individual who can think strategically, act practically, and respond well to the changing needs of a growing business.
To fulfil the role, you must have strong HR experience and be comfortable working across both strategic and administrative HR tasks. You must be confident supporting managers, handling HR issues, writing and improving policies, and helping to create fair, consistent, and professional processes across the company.
You must also be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the HR function. This is not a role where all systems and processes are already in place. We are looking for someone who can bring experience, initiative, and vision to help shape what HR looks like at UniGreenScheme.
Previous experience in a larger organisation, a multi\-site business, or a standalone HR role is highly desirable.
Candidates must demonstrate a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute with high accuracy. This will be assessed before the interview.
