Human Resources Advisor
Job Description:
The HR Advisor will provide professional, pragmatic and commercially focused HR support to managers and employees across Cosworth's Northampton operations.
Working as part of a small HR team, the role will support all aspects of the employee lifecycle and act as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations, recruitment, attendance management, performance, policy application and employment legislation.
This is a broad generalist role requiring an experienced HR professional who is comfortable managing a varied workload, building effective working relationships and operating with a high degree of autonomy within a fast paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
The Role:
- Advise and support managers on the interpretation and application of Company policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Manage a range of employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, probation, performance, absence management and flexible working cases.
- Conduct workplace investigations and support managers through formal HR processes, hearings and appeals.
- Produce accurate and professional correspondence relating to employee relations matters and employment lifecycle events.
- Support recruitment and onboarding activities, working closely with managers, candidates and external recruitment partners.
- Maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and compliant with Company and legal requirements.
- Support visa sponsorship administration, Right to Work compliance and contractor engagement processes, including IR35 assessments where required.
- Produce HR reports and management information, identifying trends and supporting informed decision\-making.
- Support organisational change activities, HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
- Assist with salary review, benefits administration and other employee lifecycle activities.
- Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
- Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice.
Essential
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent HR experience.
- Experience working within a generalist HR Advisory role.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance issues.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations.
- Strong communication and relationship\-building skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload.
- Strong IT skills and experience using HR systems.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- High level of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail.
- Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to visa sponsorship and Right to Work processes.
- Exposure to contractor compliance and IR35 assessments.
- CIPD Level 7 qualification.
