House Manager / House Host

Artist Residence Bristol is a relaxed, creative boutique hotel with a café, bar and social spaces at its heart. It’s a place where guests should feel immediately at ease — well looked after, welcome to linger, and confident that everything is quietly taken care of.

We’re looking for a House Manager / House Host who genuinely loves people and hospitality. Someone warm, organised and upbeat, with a great eye for detail and presentation, who enjoys being at the centre of a house and making sure everything — and everyone — feels just right.

This is a hands\-on, guest\-facing role for someone who brings positive energy to a space and takes real pride in looking after both guests and the building.

The Role

• Being a welcoming, visible presence in the house throughout the day


• Looking after hotel guests from arrival to departure, ensuring they feel genuinely well cared for


• Supporting check\-ins and check\-outs, and ensuring guests are charged correctly


• Making and serving coffee and drinks in the café / bar / public spaces


• Creating and maintaining a warm, relaxed and inviting atmosphere in the house


• Overseeing presentation across public areas and bedrooms


• Carrying out room checks to ensure standards are met


• Organising and coordinating housekeeping day to day


• Being the go\-to person for guest questions, requests and small issues


• Taking pride in keeping the house calm, organised and running smoothly


• Answering the phone, taking reservations and assisting with guest queries

• Are a natural host who loves looking after people


• Enjoy working in a hotel, guesthouse or similar hospitality environment


• Are confident with guests, calm under pressure and always friendly


• Have a great eye for detail, cleanliness and presentation


• Enjoy making great coffee and being part of the daily rhythm of a house


• Are organised, reliable and happy taking responsibility


• Bring positive energy to a space and always greet guests with a smile

• You’ve worked in a boutique hotel or small hospitality business


• You enjoy creating a sense of calm, comfort and ambience


• You like being the person guests remember and talk about positively
