We’re looking for an experienced, hands\-on Bar Manager to help run busy, music\-led venues across the UK (Somerset/Bristol area). and help with 1 venue in the French Alps .This is a unique role for someone who loves hospitality, thrives in live environments, and is happy to work between two countries—keeping standards consistent, teams supported, and service running smoothly.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day\-to\-day bar operations: service standards, cleanliness, opening/closing, cashing up

  • Manage and motivate staff: rota planning, training, shift leadership, performance feedback

  • Stock control: ordering, stocktakes, wastage control, supplier relationships

  • Maintain compliance: licensing, food safety where relevant, health \& safety, incident logs

  • Support events and busy services: live music nights, private hires, peak season trading

  • Maintain brand consistency across both locations (service style, menu standards, customer experience)

  • Troubleshoot operational issues quickly and calmly

  • Work closely with the owner to improve systems, margins, and team confidence
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Bar Manager / Supervisor in a high\-volume bar or venue

  • Strong leadership: confident running shifts and developing staff

  • Great operational discipline: stock, cash, compliance, checklists

  • Warm, guest\-focused style with high standards

  • Comfortable working independently and communicating clearly with the owner

  • Able to travel and work between France and the UK (reliable, organised, flexible)
Essential Requirements
  • Right to work in France and/or the UK (or ability to obtain it)

  • Valid passport and ability to travel regularly

  • English fluent; French conversational (or willingness to improve) is a big plus

  • Availability for evenings/weekends during peak periods
Nice to Have
  • Cocktail knowledge / menu development

  • Experience in live music venues or events

  • Training/HR experience (onboarding, SOPs, staff handbooks)

  • Driving licence
Contract / Schedule (customise)
  • Split\-location schedule (e.g. 2–4 weeks in France / 2–4 weeks in the UK)

  • Competitive pay depending on experience \+ potential performance bonus

  • Accommodation support may be available during France stints (if applicable)
