Assistant Manager in Hotel Operations
The Opportunity
We are a multi\-site hospitality group with a portfolio of hotel properties under active management. To support our continued growth and ensure consistent operational standards across the group, we are now recruiting for the position of Assistant Manager in Hotel Operations.
This is a hands\-on, deployable leadership role. The postholder will be based in group head office and deployed to subsidiary hotel properties across the group as operational needs arise — to support day\-to\-day management, stabilise performance, and uphold group standards. This role is a key member of the head office operations management team, reporting to the Deputy General Manager of Operations and the Group General Manager.
Compensation Package
- Salary: £50,000 \- £60,000 per annum

1\. Deployable Hotel Management
- Deploy to subsidiary hotel properties as directed by Group HQ, assuming operational management responsibilities
- Day\-to\-day running of the hotel, covering all departments including front office, housekeeping, food \& beverage, and maintenance.
- Act as the senior on\-site authority during deployment, maintaining group standards and reporting directly to the Deputy GM of Operations and GM at HQ
- Stabilise and improve operations quickly, identifying issues and implementing corrective action with minimal lead time.
- Ensure the highest standards of guest service across all touchpoints; personally lead by example on the floor.
- Oversee daily hotel operations, ensuring all departments function efficiently
- Address operational challenges proactively, resolving issues with urgency and professionalism.
- Maintain and elevate brand reputation and guest satisfaction scores at each assigned property.
- Management of on\-site staff
- Take ownership of the hotel’s P\&L during deployment — driving revenue, controlling costs, and delivering on financial targets.
- Participate in the development and implementation of annual and monthly business plans and weekly operational financial plans.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across all hotel departments.
- Report financial performance and operational updates to head office on a regular basis.
- Embed and enforce group brand standards, service culture, and operating procedures at each property.
- Elevate service standards across food \& beverage and other guest\-facing operations.
- Feed operational insights back to HQ to support continuous improvement across the group.
- Current or former General Manager (or equivalent) of a four\-star or above hotel, with strong hands\-on operational experience
- Minimum five years’ experience in a senior hotel management role.
- Proven ability to independently manage all aspects of hotel operations — from guest services and housekeeping to food \& beverage and maintenance.
- Demonstrated track record of owning and delivering on hotel P\&L targets.
- Comfortable with deployment roles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to lead diverse teams under pressure.
- Direct management experience in five\-star hotels and/or fine dining restaurants.
- Proven record of delivering annual hotel EBITDA exceeding £500k.
- Undergraduate degree or higher in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred
- Prior experience as a Hotel Revenue Manager or strong revenue\-management expertise.
