We are seeking an experienced proactive Health \& Safety Co\-Ordinator to lead and continuously improve our health, safety, environmental, and compliance performance across all Group operations.
The Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Health \& Safety Co\-ordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective health and safety systems across the CoGri Group. The successful candidate will promote a positive safety culture, ensure legal compliance, and support operational teams in delivering projects safely and efficiently.
This is a hands\-on role requiring regular interaction with site teams, project managers, clients, contractors, and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Health \& Safety Leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of the Group's Health \& Safety strategy.
- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the business.
- Monitor legislative changes and ensure company policies and procedures remain compliant.
- Maintain and continually improve the company's Health \& Safety Management System.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Develop, review, and update policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Co\-ordination of and monitoring of CSCS card Training for employees.
- Annual SSIP Review Management
- Co\-ordination of Annual DSE Assessments for relevant employees.
- Co\-ordination and completion of Portable Appliance Testing.
- Ongoing review and regular checks of First Aid and Fire Procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety reviews across UK project locations.
- Support project teams with RAMS preparation and review.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with company and client requirements.
- PPE Monitoring and reviews (Face fit testing etc).
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences.
- Liaise with relevant parties regarding any personal injury claims.
- Ensure completion of accident book for any accidents, near misses.
- Ensure statutory reporting requirements are fulfilled where necessary.
- Identify training needs and develop health and safety training programmes.
- Maintain training records and competency matrices.
- Assist in managing environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
- Promote occupational health and employee wellbeing programmes alongside HR.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of UK Health \& Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Experience developing and implementing Health \& Safety Management Systems.
- Proven experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Report writing and analytical abilities.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites across the UK.
- Membership of a professional Occupational Health and Safety body
- Experience in a Health \& Safety role within construction, specialist contracting, industrial flooring, civil engineering, or a related sector.
- Environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA Certificate or equivalent).
- Lead Auditor qualification for ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001\.
- Experience within specialist flooring, concrete construction, industrial construction, warehousing, or logistics sectors.
- Knowledge of working in live operational warehouse and distribution environments.
- Experience managing external accreditation schemes such as CHAS, SafeContractor, Constructionline, Achilles, or similar.
- Experience supporting sustainability and ESG initiatives.
- Salary: 20 hours p/w \= £14,934\.00 \- £17,067\.00 per annum (£28,000\.00\-£32,000\.00 FTE) \- Dependent on experience
