Health Club Leisure & Pool Attendant.
Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and proactive Health Club Leisure \& Pool Attendant to join our team. This role involves ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and overall enjoyment of our Health Club \& Spa, including the pool area and surrounding amenities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent guest service skills, a welcoming attitude, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment. Previous experience in, hospitality, or guest services is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop skills within a vibrant leisure setting.
Responsibilities
1\. Supervision of the Swimming Pool: Ensure customers swim safely within the safety codes and Health Club operating procedures, including hourly spot checks of all the Spa facilities.
2\. Provide high quality customer service to ensure that the service meets the expectations of the Health Club customers and visitors. Assist customers using facilities, including instruction in the safe and appropriate use of equipment.
3\. Assist with opening and closing the Club; check fire exits, security and assistance required alarms, lights etc. Report any defects or hazardous items and complete quality assurance checks, ensuring facilities are safe and fit for use. Ensure that all work schedules are documented by the accurate completion of check/control sheets.
4\. Complete essential and routine cleaning across all areas of the club. This includes pool hall, studio, changing rooms, toilets, gym, public areas including reception. Also, to assist with and carry out non\- routine cleaning tasks.
5\. Assist alongside Hotel maintenance with task of minor repairs, light replacements etc. Take pool samples, test and adjust levels; maintain pool equipment, sports equipment, lockers, shower heads etc.
6\. Accept deliveries, move materials and equipment around the club as required.
7\. Restock Fridges / health club display\`s, completing stock control sheets.
8\. Support usage of the facilities by completing tours for potential customers and assist members to get the most from their membership by providing inductions, programmes, advice, and instruction where required. Utilise appropriate technology to assist the engagement and retention of members.
10\. Assist with changing the Club\`s marketing displays; ensure that information presented is up to date and reviewed to keep customers informed of existing and new opportunities.
11\. Cover Reception serving customers face to face and via the telephone; operate the till system and card payment system.
12\. Support the organisation and delivery of events and activities to promote aspects of the club at different times during the year.
13\. Complete mandatory training courses and work with the appropriate line manager to identify development opportunities that will benefit both the individual and the service.
14\. Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the senior management team.
15\. You may be asked to carry out additional tasks within your capability, to
meet the needs of the business.
Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality, or guest services is preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast\-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early, weekends and evenings if required
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations related to leisure facilities
- A proactive approach to problem\-solving and guest engagement
- Level 2 Fitness Qualification would be advantageous NOT essential.
