The Role
A new exciting oppertunity to join the Acute Frailty Unit (ward 14\) at University Hospital Monklands. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out routine personal care/assist with routine examination duties for patients, in support of (and supervised by), a registered nurse/clinician. The post holder will ensure a person centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy. The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward/department environment.
In this key role you will:
- Assist in the preparation of patients for procedures.
- Assist with admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
- Assist in the collection of routine urine/blood specimens.
- Monitor and order supplies and carry out required housekeeping duties, in order to support patient care.
- Provide escort duties as required.
- Undertake recording of patient vital signs and report results to registered staff.
- Knowledge of personal care and related procedures or previous volunteer or work experience in a health, education or social environment.
- Required to undertake on the job training and induction
- Undertake mandatory HCSW standards
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
