Head of Finance

Golden Bear Products is a successful, family\-owned business established in 1979, with a strong reputation for designing and delivering high\-quality consumer products. With long\-standing partnerships and a growing international footprint, we are entering an exciting new phase of growth, and we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Finance to join our senior leadership team and play a key role in shaping the future of the business.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the Board and shareholders, this is a senior leadership position with real influence.

You will lead a finance team of five (including a Business Systems Manager), taking full responsibility for the finance function while acting as a trusted strategic partner to the business.

This role offers the opportunity to operate at Finance Director level, combining commercial insight with hands\-on leadership in a dynamic, growing organisation.

What you’ll be doing

• Acting as a trusted advisor to the MD and Board on financial performance, strategy and risk


• Leading financial reporting, planning, and control across UK and international operations


• Supporting international expansion, particularly in the US and Europe


• Overseeing tax, compliance and governance across multiple jurisdictions (UK, US, Europe, HK)


• Driving cashflow management, commercial insight, and performance improvement


• Leading and developing a high\-performing finance team


• Optimising systems and data, including ERP and business intelligence tools


• Supporting operational and commercial decision\-making across the business

What we’re looking for

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)


• Strong experience in a senior finance leadership role (Head of Finance / FD / No.1 role)


• Proven ability to operate at Board level with commercial influence


• Experience in SME or owner\-managed environments


• Exposure to international trading (US, Europe, and/or Far East advantageous)


• Good understanding of tax and compliance across multiple jurisdictions


• Experience improving systems, processes, and financial reporting (ERP/BI)


• Collaborative, hands\-on approach with strong leadership skills
