About the role
We are looking for an exceptional senior leader to join us as Head of Care, providing strategic and operational leadership across our residential children's services.
This is a high\-impact, directorate\-level role for someone who is deeply experienced in residential childcare, passionate about outcomes for children and young people, and ready to drive quality, compliance and culture across a growing organisation.
You will hold full oversight of service delivery across our homes, work in close partnership with the Director, and play a central role in shaping the future direction of the organisation, including the development of new services.

- Holding direct oversight of Registered Managers, ensuring regular supervision, appraisal and performance review
- Leading the design and implementation of a robust, organisation\-wide quality assurance and governance framework
- Driving strong Ofsted inspection readiness and continuous improvement across all homes
- Maintaining strategic oversight of outcomes for children and young people, ensuring care is consistently child\-centred and trauma\-informed
- Acting as senior escalation point for safeguarding, regulatory concerns and complex operational matters
- Leading the identification, design and development of new residential services, including end\-to\-end registration and mobilisation
- Working closely with the Director and senior leadership team to shape organisational strategy and contribute to board\-level discussions
- Building and maintaining strong commissioner, local authority and stakeholder relationships
- Championing the voice, rights and participation of children and young people across all services
- Substantial senior leadership experience within residential children's care or adult social care
- Proven track record of leading services to strong Ofsted outcomes, with thorough knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Experience working at or alongside Responsible Individual (RI) level
- Demonstrable experience leading quality assurance frameworks across multi\-site or complex organisations
- Experience managing and developing Registered Managers and senior leaders
- Level 7 qualification in Strategic Leadership or equivalent senior management qualification
- Strong safeguarding knowledge across children's and adults frameworks
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills at board and commissioner level
- Experience of leading or contributing to the development and registration of new services (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence required.
