Graduate Software Project Manager

Location: Horsham, West Sussex – Fully Onsite

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37\.5 per week \- Monday to Friday \- 9am\-5pm

This is an excellent opportunity to launch your project management career in the software and telecommunications industry.

As a Graduate Software Project Manager at Metricell, you’ll join a small, collaborative team working alongside our software, technical and commercial colleagues to deliver technology projects for customers in the telecoms sector.

This is a fully onsite role based at our Horsham office, where you’ll work closely with the teams involved in delivering our projects. Because we’re a small team, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved from day one. While you’ll have support and guidance as you learn, we’re looking for someone who is comfortable getting hands\-on, taking ownership and gradually becoming responsible for their own areas of project delivery. You won’t just be observing projects – you’ll be helping to make them happen.

You don’t need previous project management experience. We’re looking for a graduate who is organised, curious and genuinely interested in technology. You might have studied Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, Business or another discipline, but what matters most is that you’re interested in understanding how software works, how technology solves real\-world problems and how different teams come together to deliver it.

What You’ll Be DoingSoftware \& Technology Project Delivery

• Support the planning and delivery of software and telecoms projects for our customers.


• Take ownership of project activities and actions as your knowledge and experience develop.


• Work with stakeholders to understand project scope, objectives, deliverables and success criteria.


• Coordinate activities across software development, technical, product and customer\-facing teams.


• Maintain project plans, schedules, action logs and documentation.


• Track progress and proactively follow up on actions to keep projects moving.


• Get hands\-on in supporting software testing, deployments, releases and customer onboarding.

Communication \& Stakeholder Management

• Build positive working relationships with customers and internal teams.


• Organise and facilitate project meetings and workshops.


• Communicate project progress clearly and professionally.


• Capture decisions and actions and make sure they are followed through.


• Help translate between technical teams and non\-technical stakeholders.

Project Coordination \& Governance

• Identify and escalate project risks, issues and dependencies.


• Support resource planning and project scheduling.


• Ensure project documentation remains accurate and up to date.


• Help monitor project performance, budgets and key milestones.


• Support quality assurance and ensure deliverables meet customer requirements.

Continuous Improvement \& AI

• Look for ways to make our project processes more efficient.


• Explore how AI and automation can improve project planning, reporting, documentation and administration.


• Develop your understanding of software development and telecommunications.


• Build your project management skills through practical experience and increasing responsibility.

• Able to work fully onsite from our Horsham office.


• Able to undergo the required UK Security Clearance. Due to the requirements of the clearance process, candidates must have lived and worked in the UK for at least the last five years.

It Would Be Great If You Have

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Telecommunications, Business, Project Management or another relevant subject.


• Experience from a placement, internship, university project or part\-time role involving technology, projects or customers.


• An understanding of the software development lifecycle.


• An interest in mobile networks or the telecommunications industry.


• Knowledge of project management approaches such as PRINCE2, Agile or Scrum.


• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.

Previous project management experience is not essential. We’re looking for someone with the potential and enthusiasm to learn quickly, take responsibility and become an important part of a small team.
