This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience on major civil engineering projects, work alongside experienced commercial professionals and develop the technical and professional skills required to progress as a Quantity Surveyor.
Role Purpose
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account. Working under the guidance of experienced Quantity Surveyors, you will assist with cost control, subcontractor management, valuations, measurements, reporting and contract administration while developing a strong understanding of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the measurement and valuation of construction works.
- Support the preparation of interim valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
- Assist with the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including issuing enquiries and reviewing quotations.
- Help prepare subcontract documents, purchase orders and commercial correspondence.
- Monitor project costs, commitments, variations and forecasts against agreed budgets.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with monthly cost\-value reconciliation and commercial reporting.
- Review drawings, specifications and contract documents to identify commercial requirements.
- Attend site meetings and work closely with project managers, engineers, planners and site teams.
- Support the identification, valuation and agreement of variations and claims.
- Ensure commercial activities follow company procedures, contractual requirements and relevant legislation.
- Participate in structured training and professional development towards chartered status.

Essential
- A degree in Quantity Surveying essential.
- A strong interest in civil engineering, infrastructure and commercial management.
- Good numerical, analytical and problem\-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- A full, clean Irish driving licence.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland without sponsorship.
- Previous placement or site experience.
- Experience with quantity surveying or estimating software.
