Job Purpose
Responsible for overseeing the receipt and initial handling of all inbound goods. Ensuring that deliveries are accurately checked, recorded and stored and that all processes are carried out in line with warehouse and health and safety regulations. Providing leadership and coaching skills to the Goods In team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operation of the Goods In department
- Lead, coach and develop the Goods In team
- Ensure all deliveries are received accurately and in a timely manne.
- Verify deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation
- Identify and report shortages, damages or quality issues
- Ensure products are booked into the warehouse management system accurately.
- Allocate stock to the correct storage locations
- Work closely with Merch Team and Customer Service
- Monitor team performance and productivity
- Ensure all Health \& Safety procedures are followed
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
- Carry out Return to Work interviews for team members in line with company absence procedures
- Keep our stock levels accurate and make sure everything is in its correct location
- Report any damaged or missing goods to the appropriate departments
- Receive, inspect, QC and verify all incoming goods against delivery documentation, so we know our customers are getting the very best
- Ensure stock is correctly labelled and stored in the designated warehouse locations
- Maintain a clean, organised Goods In area to ensure smooth operations and safety
- Support the Goods In \& Stock Control Manager with reporting, audits, and process improvements
- Proactively address / resolve operational challenges to maintain workflow efficiency
- Support team members in staying on track with the goals set by the GI Manager
- Delegate tasks effectively, balancing workloads to ensure all operatives are engaged and productive
- Lead by example, fostering a positive culture and encouraging open communication
Experience
- Able to drive Flexi\-Forklift
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Health \& Safety knowledge
- A passion for supporting others to succeed
- High level PC competency, Microsoft product knowledge and NAV an advantage
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Able to self\-start and work alone as well as drive a team when needed
- Good verbal communication skills
