Equine Support Support Worker - part time
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Equine Support Worker to join our small team. The successful candidate will work with our Equine Lead to ensure our horses and donkeys are kept in good health and condition. They will also work with small groups of adults and children with special education needs and disabilities to carry out tasks and activities. These include animal husbandry and stable management.
The position includes working at the weekend (3 hours on Saturday and Sunday) and involves being outside in all weathers!

Responsibilities
- Work with our Equine Lead to ensure all equids are kept in good health and condition and the high standards of stable management are maintained.
- Monitor and record treatments and/or medication administered to any equid.
- Ensure all equids are looked after at the weekends \- including poo\-picking, mucking out, preparing and filling nets, changing rugs, making up and giving feeds
- Supporting Equine Lead to ensure students are supported to a high standard.
- Working with volunteers to carry out stable management and groundwork activities
- Level 3 Horse management/BHS stage 1 or equivalent
- Previous experience working with horses for at least two years.
- Previous experience working with children and/or adults with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or social and emotional difficulties is desirable.
