GENERAL MANAGER
The Murrayfield Bar, Edinburgh

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven General Manager to lead The Murrayfield Bar as it enters a new chapter following a major refurbishment.

The venue will reopen with a fresh new look and an enhanced food and drink offering, combining quality Scottish hospitality with live sport, great food, premium drinks and memorable customer service.

We are looking for a hands\-on General Manager who can take ownership of the business, build a strong team and establish The Murrayfield Bar as one of the area’s leading venues.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading the venue’s reopening and day\-to\-day operation


• Recruiting, training and motivating a high\-performing team


• Delivering consistently excellent customer service


• Driving sales through food, drink, live sport, events and local marketing


• Building relationships with local residents, businesses and community groups


• Managing rotas, labour costs, stock and operating expenses


• Achieving agreed sales, gross profit and profitability targets


• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance


• Ensuring all licensing, health and safety and food safety requirements are followed


• Working closely with the Operations and Marketing teams to promote the venue


• Creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience managing a busy pub, bar or hospitality venue


• Be commercially aware and confident managing budgets and key performance figures


• Have a proven ability to increase sales and control costs


• Be passionate about hospitality, food, drinks and customer experience


• Be confident leading, developing and holding a team accountable


• Have strong organisational and communication skills


• Understand the importance of local engagement, events and social media


• Be willing to work evenings, weekends and key sporting or event days


• Hold a personal licence, or be willing and eligible to obtain one
