General Maintenance Engineering Tutor Assessor

Do you have solid experience in maintenance engineering and a passion for helping others grow? We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled General Maintenance Engineering Tutor Assessor to join our Telford Academy team. In this rewarding role, you will deliver high\-quality training and assessment across mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance disciplines, supporting learners to develop the practical and theoretical knowledge they need to thrive in industry. Whether you are already working in education or are an experienced engineer ready to make the move into teaching, this is a fantastic opportunity to do work that genuinely matters.
What We're Looking For
- A relevant engineering qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Maintenance Engineering
- GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
- Proven industry experience in general maintenance engineering across mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Experience of fault diagnosis and carrying out repairs across mechanical and electrical systems
- Strong knowledge of preventative and reactive maintenance techniques and health and safety in engineering environments
- The ability to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging classroom and workshop\-based training, adapting delivery to suit a range of learner needs and abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, engage, and motivate learners at all levels
- Good record\-keeping and organisational skills, with a commitment to quality and compliance
- A teaching qualification (e.g. AET) or assessing qualification (e.g. CAVA) is desirable — training towards these is available and fully funded for the right candidate
- Knowledge of PLCs, automated systems, or apprenticeship standards would be a welcome advantage
