Forklift operator/warehouse person

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator and Warehouse Person to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials handling, shipping, and receiving operations within our warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical aptitude to contribute to smooth supply chain processes. The position involves operating forklifts safely, maintaining warehouse organisation, and supporting equipment repair when necessary.

Duties

• Safely operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse


• Manage shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control


• Utilise Warehouse Management System (WMS) software to track stock movements and update records


• Assist with materials handling, including stacking, organising, and storing goods in designated areas


• Conduct basic equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure operational safety and efficiency


• Perform load \& unload activities with attention to safety protocols and efficiency standards


• Support inventory management through regular stock counts and cycle checks


• Handle heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to manual handling guidelines


• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times

Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics roles


• Valid forklift licence with demonstrated competency in forklift operation


• Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment repair is advantageous


• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is preferred


• Strong understanding of materials handling procedures and safety regulations


• Basic maths skills for inventory counting and documentation purposes


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently


• Good organisational skills with attention to detail


• Prior experience in shipping \& receiving processes is desirable
