Forklift Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle heavy loads. The ideal applicant will have previous warehouse experience and be familiar with warehouse management systems. Responsibilities

• Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load and unload goods from lorries, containers, or storage areas


• Assist with the organisation and management of stock within the warehouse using warehouse management systems


• Handle materials with care, ensuring accurate placement and retrieval of items


• Perform basic equipment repairs or maintenance as needed to ensure operational safety and efficiency


• Support shipping and receiving activities by preparing goods for dispatch or receipt


• Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment, reporting any faults or issues for repair


• Assist in general warehouse duties including inventory checks, stock rotation, and organising storage areas


• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during operations

• Valid forklift licence with proven experience in operating forklift trucks in a busy warehouse environment


• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is highly desirable


• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment when necessary


• Experience in materials handling, shipping \& receiving, and stock organisation


• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently


• Basic maths skills for inventory counting and record keeping


• Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential for highly motivated candidates willing to learn


• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
