Salary: £35,000–£38,000 per year, depending on experience
Location: Edinburgh / Central Scotland – Field Based
Role Overview
iFire UK is looking for an experienced Fire \& Security Small Works Engineer to join our growing team.
The role will focus on carrying out small installations, system alterations, upgrades and remedial works across our commercial customer base.
Typical jobs will range from adding or relocating fire alarm devices and completing remedial works identified during servicing, through to smaller CCTV, intruder alarm and access control installations.
We are looking for someone who is technically competent, organised and comfortable taking ownership of jobs from arrival on site through to completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out small works and remedial installations across fire and security systems
- Install, alter and extend fire alarm systems
- Complete CCTV, intruder alarm and access control upgrades and additions
- Carry out remedial works identified during service visits
- Fault\-find and resolve issues encountered during works
- Commission and test completed installations
- Liaise professionally with customers while on site
- Complete accurate job sheets, commissioning records and documentation
- Identify additional works or improvements where appropriate
- Work closely with our service and projects teams
- Ensure works are completed safely and in accordance with relevant British Standards and company procedures
- Previous experience within the fire and security industry
- Good practical knowledge of fire alarm systems
- Experience with CCTV, intruder alarms and access control
- Strong installation and fault\-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and manage smaller jobs from start to finish
- Good customer\-facing and communication skills
- High standard of workmanship
- Full UK driving licence
- Relevant industry qualifications are advantageous, although experience and ability are equally important
- £35,000–£38,000 basic salary
