Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an experienced accountant to join the Global Business Services team.

Reporting to the Financial Accounting Director, you will lead the Financial Accounting team, ensuring the financial accuracy of several North American legal entities. This role requires a deep understanding of financial accounting and a high standard of business partnering with various non\-finance functions. Leading a team of approximately 20, your experience in people management is crucial.

You will guarantee the team provides precise and timely reporting results, showcasing your ability to prioritize and follow through in a fast\-paced, multi\-task environment. Your outstanding communication and business partnering skills will be crucial as you become the key contact for internal collaborators.

Responsibilities:
---------------------

  • Coordinate the timeliness and accuracy of US GAAP financial reporting.

  • Mentor, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals, driving a performance and customer\-first culture.

  • Act as the main point of contact for business collaborators, working closely with other GBS departments and functions.

  • Lead monthly business reviews with collaborators.

  • Conduct detailed analysis of balance sheets and share findings with collaborators.

  • Ensure financial compliance and implement SOX control measures without exception.

  • Deliver operational excellence.

  • Lead and promote an EEE culture, taking accountability for delivering projects that feed into annual efficiency targets.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in people management.

  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple complex situations.

  • High accuracy in performing all aspects of the role.

  • Proactive in driving continuous improvement.

  • Deep technical accounting expertise.

  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem\-solving skills.

  • Solid understanding of US GAAP (desired but not crucial).
