Finance Assistant
We are currently looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to provide effective and efficient administrative financial support to the Finance Manager and Headteacher

Salary Grade: 6\.9 currently £25,995 (actual £13,228\)
Term time factor/hours per week: 22 hours per week, term time only
To have responsibility of administration tasks and finance operation prioritising your own work to provide a confident, effective and flexible service for the school. The finance assistant will be responsible for the accurate processing of financial transactions, income, invoices and banking, supporting budget monitoring and year\-end procedures, managing assets, debt recovery, and coordinating school trips, bookings and associated financial arrangements.
Main Responsibilities \& Duties:
- To raise orders and commitments for stock and services.
- To process orders, invoices, credit notes and local income.
- To check and follow\-up all outstanding orders.
- To monitor and reconcile bank statements.
- To be responsible for receiving and checking goods on delivery.
- Process petty cash in line with financial regulations and process petty cash reimbursements.
- To administer and process the school’s insurance schemes and claims.
- Process and manage payroll.
- To ensure that records are kept and re\-claims made individually funded students.
- To provide the Headteacher and Governing Body with information which will help them to monitor the budget and take financial decisions.
- To assist in making statistical returns to the LA and DfE.
- To be responsible for printing VAT returns and sending to the LA, and processing VAT reimbursements.
- To inform curriculum budget holders of budget/expenditure.
- To oversee the billing of dual registered students.
- GCSE grade A\-C/4\-9 in Maths \& English
- AAT qualification or a willingness to work towards one
- A good understanding of the financial functions and duties of a locally managed school.
- Commitment to and understanding of equal opportunities.

- The ability to absorb information readily and speedily and work under pressure.
- Proven literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
- Able to demonstrate experience of providing effective financial support.
- Experience of using and developing financial systems and procedures.
Pay: £13,228\.00 per year
