Experienced Pharmacy Dispenser

J. Docter Limited, an independent pharmacy chain in the West Midlands, is currently recruiting for an experienced Dispenser for our Wednesfield branch.

Applicants must be committed, hardworking and provide great customer service to our patients. The ability to respond to medical queries in a sensitive and professional manner is a key aspect of this role. Good IT skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are all essential.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Dispense prescriptions accurately under the supervision of the pharmacist.


• Answer the telephone and respond to patient queries professionally.


• Serve customers over the counter medicines and other pharmacy products.


• Provide appropriate advice to customers on minor ailments and where appropriate refer them to the pharmacist.


• Liaise with GP surgeries and other health care professionals.


• Order medicines and stock management.


• Ensure the correct storage of medication, including effective stock rotation.


• Monitor and check expiry dates on the medication.


• Sort and file prescriptions and other relevant paperwork.


• Comply with legal and company guidelines such as SOPs and GPhC regulations.


• Support and assist all members of the pharmacy team.

The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast\-paced environment.

Experience in a community pharmacy is essential.

This vacancy is on a permanent basis, however is conditional upon successfully completing a probationary period.
