About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Evening Warehouse Manager to lead our Goods\-Out operation and help deliver exceptional service levels, consistently exceeding our 99% target.
This role is critical to ensuring all picking, consolidation, and loading activities are completed accurately, safely, and on time so routes depart as scheduled with the correct products at the right temperature. You will play a key role in maintaining high warehouse standards while fostering a customer\-focused, solutions\-driven team culture.
Working in a fast\-paced foodservice environment, you’ll lead teams across evening/night operations and contribute to the success of a growing business with a combined turnover of £300M\+.
What you will be doing:
- Lead the evening warehouse/Goods\-Out operation in a professional, customer\-focused manner
- Ensure all picking, consolidation, and loading activities are completed accurately and on time
- Guarantee vehicles are loaded correctly, in the right sequence, and at the correct temperature
- Maintain high standards of warehouse cleanliness, safety, and compliance with Food Safety and H\&S regulations
- Manage, coach, and develop team members, supporting performance and succession planning
- Oversee recruitment, training, performance reviews, 1\-2\-1s, and team engagement activities
- Monitor and manage KPIs, service levels, and departmental budgets
- Ensure accurate completion of invoicing, route paperwork, and operational documentation
- Support and develop the wider management team in the day\-to\-day running of the department
- Ensure all warehouse equipment is maintained and compliant with safety and legal standards
- Promote a strong culture of food safety, health \& safety, and continuous improvement
- Provide operational cover where required to maintain continuity
- Drive employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with ESG goals, data integrity, and cyber security standards
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or Assistant Manager
- Strong understanding of Goods\-Out operations within FMCG, foodservice, or temperature\-controlled environments
- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing, coaching, and developing teams
- Strong IT, numeracy, and administrative skills
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong problem\-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience managing KPIs, service levels, and departmental budgets
- Good knowledge of Health \& Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and IOSH procedures
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems
- A customer\-focused, solutions\-driven mindset with a proactive approach
