*JOB PURPOSE:*
- To review technical engineering drawings and provide detailed estimates through collaboration with customers, suppliers and vendors for the supply and manufacture of high precision engineering components and assemblies.
- Experienced mechanical engineer with an indentured apprenticeship, or the equivalent skills and experience.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, with a good understanding of GD\&T.
- At least 5 years previous purchasing experience (within an engineering or manufacturing environment).
- Familiar with manufacturing processes, raw material specifications and costing methodologies.
- Solid negotiation skills.
- Exceptional commercial awareness.
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates including material, labour, equipment and sub\-contractor pricing.
- Manage the end\-to\-end bid process, including proposal writing and bid management
- Liaise effectively with departments included with the project on all relevant aspects of each project, manufacture and source components for builds.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and timelines.
- Produce reports on spend and forecast production capacity.
- To identify opportunities for increased cost effectiveness.
- Plan, organise and accurately monitor workload to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Planning and organising – ability to work to strict deadlines.
- Excellent team worker, with the ability and self\-discipline to work alone effectively.
- Retains Commercial awareness.
- Maintains a professional attitude, keeping calm and controlled when working in demanding environments.

- Excellent working knowledge of EXCEL.

- Excellent numerical skills.
- 8:30am – 17:00pm, Monday \- Friday
- Dependent on skills and relevant experience.
Pay: £35,000\.00\-£45,000\.00 per year
