Estimating Engineer / Fabrication Estimator
Arromax Engineering is looking for an Estimating Engineer / Fabrication Estimator to support our growing fabrication and engineering workload.
We specialise in bespoke fabrication, welding, and engineered solutions across a wide range of industries. Projects include general fabrication, architectural metalwork, conveyors, material handling equipment, vehicle\-related projects, and bespoke engineering manufacture.
This is a varied and fast\-paced role suited to somebody with strong fabrication knowledge, practical commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple quotations efficiently.
\#\# Responsibilities
\- Reviewing customer enquiries, drawings, and specifications
\- Producing accurate quotations for fabrication and engineering projects
\- Estimating material, labour, machining, finishing, and subcontract costs
\- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing
\- Managing multiple quotations and prioritising urgent enquiries
\- Supporting project handover to production
\- Following up quotations with customers where required
\#\# Requirements
\- Experience within fabrication, welding, or engineering manufacturing
\- Ability to read fabrication and engineering drawings
\- Good understanding of fabrication and workshop processes
\- Commercially aware and practically minded
\- Strong organisational and communication skills
\- Competent with Excel and general office software
\#\# Desirable
\- Experience within architectural metalwork, conveyors, material handling, or bespoke engineering manufacture
\- Knowledge of laser cutting, folding, machining, or sheet metal processes
\- Experience with RADAN, Radquote, or WorkPLAN advantageous
\- CAD or estimating software experience beneficial
