About My English Sister

My English Sister is a Lyon\-based English language learning and childcare agency. We support the English development of French children through fun, personalised tuition and care. Each year, we recruit 30\+ English\-speaking "brothers and sisters" to work with families across France; flexible, part\-time roles ideal for students, language assistants, or young professionals looking to gain childcare and teaching experience, improve their French, and join a warm bilingual community.

The Role at a Glance

• Location: Place Saint\-Luc, Sainte\-Foy\-lès\-Lyon (69110\)


• Start date: 29 June 2026 (flexible; a few shorter sessions of 2–3 hours can be arranged beforehand to ease in)


• End date: 7 August 2026, with the option to continue from September 2026 based on the applicant's availability (typically 2–3 afternoons per week, around 4:30 – 6:30 pm for school pickup)


• Average hours: \~21 per week (summer); reduced afternoons in September if continued


• Child: One girl, age 3\.5


• Contract type: CDD (summer role, with potential to extend into the school year)

Weekly Schedule

• Monday: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm


• Tuesday: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm


• Thursday: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm


• Friday: 7:00 am – 1:00 pm

A perfect role for someone who wants to keep afternoons and Wednesdays free. If you're available beyond the summer, the family would love to keep working with you in September on a lighter, after\-school schedule (2–3 afternoons per week, 4:30 – 6:30 pm for school pickup).

What You'll Be Doing

Spend your summer mornings with a 3\.5\-year\-old bright, curious little girl who loves activities and being outside. You'll head straight to the house and start the day with her over breakfast, then plan a fun\-filled morning in English: a trip to the park, a splash at the swimming pool, or some creative time at the local pottery workshop. Cooking and a simple lunch are part of the rhythm, so you'll have plenty of chances to weave English into everyday moments, chatting in the kitchen, singing on the way to the park, telling stories on the walk home.

This is an immersive role for someone who genuinely enjoys spending one\-on\-one time with a young child and brings energy, imagination, and warmth to every morning.

Who You Are

• At least 6 months of childcare experience


• Confident cooking and meal\-prepping for young children


• Fluent in English (C2 / native level)


• Energetic, creative, and resourceful


• Comfortable planning engaging activities and getting out and about
