We are cultivating a “one stop shop” approach to benefits, promoting a deeper understanding of our clients needs.

About the role

As an Employee Benefits Consultant, you will be responsible for providing consultation services to clients on their employee benefits packages. You will work closely with employers to design, implement, and manage effective employee benefits programmes that align with their business goals and meet the needs of their employees. Your role will involve conducting research, analysing data, and staying up to date with industry trends to ensure the delivery of innovative and competitive benefits solutions.

Much of the role will involve Client Consultation

  • Engage with employers to understand their business objectives, culture, and employee needs.

  • Analise any existing benefit programmes and identify areas for improvement.

  • Provide expert guidance on benefits strategy, including plan design, cost management, and compliance.
We also want you to help shape the proposition going forward, as detailed in the key accountabilities, Benefits Programme Design and Implementation
  • Develop tailored employee benefits packages that align with client requirements.

  • Research and present suitable benefits providers, products, and services.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to effectively implement benefits programs.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, such as pension auto\-enrolment and GDPR.
Communication and Education
  • Create clear and engaging communication materials to educate employees about their benefits.

  • Contribute to the overall marketing strategy of the department and commit to creating thought leadership work on behalf of the Employee Benefits Department.

  • Conduct employee workshops, webinars, and presentations to explain benefits options and answer questions.
Support Clients in implementing Effective Employee Engagement Strategies related to their Benefits Programmes, Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Collect and analyse relevant data, such as claims experience, utilization rates, and employee feedback.

  • Identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement within employee benefits programmes.

  • Generate reports and provide insights to clients, enabling them to make data\-driven decisions.
Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge
  • Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Ensure benefits programmes comply with legal requirements, such as pension scheme regulations and their associated tax regulations.

  • Guide clients on compliance matters and assist with audits and assessments, as needed.
Skills and experience:
  • Degree educated in a human resource, business administration, financial services discipline, or a related field.

  • Excellent listening skills.

  • Be self\-driven and proactive.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a larger national team.

  • Excellent analytical and problem\-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal.

  • Strong relationship\-building and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in using benefits administration software and tools.
Preferable:
  • Proven experience in employee benefits consulting or a similar role. PSE experience would be advantageous.

  • Strong generalist knowledge of the UK employee benefits landscape, including pension schemes, health insurance, life insurance, and voluntary benefits

  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, such as GDPR, auto\-enrolment, and the Equality Act.

  • Relevant certifications, such as Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), Pensions Management Institute (PMI), and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) qualifications.
