NW Metal Sections is a leading UK manufacturer of cold\-formed steel and cable\-containment systems.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer \- Electrical Bias to join our expanding team, in this role you will provide preventative and reactive maintenance across all aspects of production.
As a Maintenance Engineer at NW Metal Sections you will have the below duties:
Duties:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to company machinery and the company building.
- Respond to defects, faults and company requests. Identifying the root causes of any breakdowns and faults.
- Carrying out reactive and emergency breakdown tasks.
- Carrying out inspections, fault finding and diagnosis.
- Ensuring all tasks are completed in accordance with agreed service levels.
- Completing company job sheets and tasks.
- Maintaining site based records and log books.
- Carrying out general cleaning and housekeeping to maximise life expectancy of all equipment.
- Proactively working to reduce energy consumption and recommending any improvements.
- Working to all health \& safety compliance standards and local policies and procedures are met.
- Maintaining excellent relationships with all staff.
- Assist with any reasonable requests from your manager.
Skills:
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in appropriate mechanical/electrical discipline or equivalent \- Essential.
- Electrical Bias \- Essential.
- EAL Level 3 \- Electrical Instillation \- Desired.
- 18th Edition electrical \- Preferred.
- 3 years Facilities Maintenance experience \- Essential.
- Strong Mechanical (Facilities) knowledge, background and experience \- Desired.
- Hydraulic experience \- Desired.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Adaptable to frequently changing circumstances.
- Effective problem solving, creative thinking and analytical skills.
- An effective communicator, able to adapt your communication style.
- 40 hours per week contract. Overtime available and required dependant on work load.
- AM/DAYS/PM rotating shift.
- AM \= Monday \- Friday: 6am \- 3pm. DAYS \= Monday \- Friday: 8am \- 5pm. PM \= Monday \- Thursday: 1pm \- 10pm Friday: 11am \- 8pm.
- 2 x 30 minutes break unpaid.
- 24 days annual leave (for a full year) plus bank holidays.
- Annual Christmas shutdown.
- May also include heavy lifting.
- Must be able to communicate in English, both written and spoken.
- Proven experience in electrical engineering with a strong understanding of electrical systems and components.
