About the role
------------------

Founded in 1907, Imperial is one of the world’s leading universities for science, engineering, medicine and business, renowned for the excellence of its research, education and innovation and for its global reach and impact. Throughout our history, we have sought not only to be a world\-leading university, but a world\-changing one, using discovery, innovation and entrepreneurship to tackle the greatest challenges facing humanity.

Our strategy, Science for Humanity, is ambitious and positions Imperial as a force for good in the world. It sets out how we will shape the future through the power of science, technology and talent, and how we will attract, nurture and champion the best local, national and global talent wherever it is found.

People are at the heart of Imperial’s success. Through Imperial Together, we are creating an inclusive environment in which everyone can fulfil their potential, guided by our values of Respect, Collaboration, Excellence, Innovation and Integrity.

We are now seeking to appoint a Director of Marketing to provide strategic leadership for Imperial’s central marketing, faculty marketing and creative services functions at a particularly significant moment for the university.

What you would be doing

Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Recruitment Officer, the Director of Marketing will lead the development and delivery of an integrated global marketing strategy focused on student recruitment, candidate engagement and brand impact. Working closely with colleagues across Marketing, Outreach, Recruitment and Admissions (MORA), Faculties and the Communications Division, the postholder will play a pivotal role in shaping how Imperial presents itself to prospective students and audiences worldwide.

This is a highly visible leadership role within one of the world’s most internationally recognised universities. The successful candidate will lead talented teams across Campaigns, Digital and Creative Services and Faculty Marketing, helping to position Imperial as the destination of choice for exceptional students from across the UK and around the world.

What we are looking for

The role combines strategic leadership with operational delivery. You will lead innovative, data\-informed marketing activity across multiple channels and markets, championing digital innovation and candidate engagement while supporting Imperial’s work on global reputation and brand. Working collaboratively across the institution, you will be pivotal to Imperial’s ambition to deliver a seamless, welcoming and digitally enabled pre\-enrolment journey, underpinned by insight, creativity and technological innovation.

The Director of Marketing will be central to Imperial’s pre\-enrolment digital transformation activity, including co\-leadership of the strategic roadmap for Imperial 360, the university’s integrated CRM platform. The role therefore requires an individual who combines sophisticated marketing expertise with strong organisational leadership, stakeholder engagement skills and a genuine enthusiasm for innovation and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an accomplished and collaborative marketing leader with substantial experience of developing and delivering international marketing strategies within complex organisations. You will bring strong expertise in brand, digital engagement, lead generation and audience insight, alongside the credibility and presence to influence at senior level across a globally respected institution. Experience within higher education or similarly complex international environments will be highly advantageous.

This is an outstanding opportunity to shape the future direction of marketing at a world\-leading university with global reach, impact and ambition.
