The Role
Applicants are sought to the post of Deputy ADN for Mental Health LD and Addictions. This post is central to the ongoing prority of providing Assurance to the Board that our care is Safe, Effective and person\-centred.
The role is strategic and operational, providing professional leadership, and influencing future service delivery in NHS Lanarkshire for identified sites. The post holder will have a professional lead for nursing within their sites/localities, ensuring standards of clinical practice, patient centred care and workforce development are in place to maximise the impact of nursing on service change and quality improvement.
The post holder will act as a deputy to the Associate Director of Nursing and will work closely with the Locality Manager/General Manager and the Associate Medical Director and their deputies in providing visible leadership at both a site and NHS Lanarkshire level.
The post holder will contribute to the clinical, financial and staff governance arrangements ensuring safe, efficient and effective care, compatible with professional and national clinical standards.
The post holder will contribute to the corporate management of the Directorate, and assists the Divisional Director in achieving the Executive Directorate's objectives.
In this key role, you will:
- To contribute to the strategic direction of the localities/sites and area of responsibility, and assist in the determination of the NHS Lanarkshire \& Health and Social Care’s strategy and policy.
- To act as a member of the site/locality triumvirate /quadrumvirate / Senior Management team and support the delivery of financial, clinical activity and performance targets. Contributes to strategic planning groups at National, Board and Divisional level, particularly when deputising for the Associate Director of Nursing
- To professionally support the planning and development of nursing services within their Directorate to ensure they are best provided to meet the developing needs of the service.
- To act as required, as a nominated representative of the Associate Director of Nursing, on external committees to advise on nursing issues at Divisional and National level.
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge of NHS Scotland’s Leadership Qualities framework or equivalent framework.
- Management knowledge gained through experience and continuous professional development.
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
