Every machine we sell or service has to reach the customer safely and on time. As one of our delivery drivers you’ll be on the road most days, moving equipment between our Bishopton depot and customers across our territory.

• Depot: Bishopton, Renfrewshire


• Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week. Overtime available.


• Reports to: Groundcare Sales Manager

Who we are

Hamilton Ross Group is one of the UK’s largest machinery dealerships. We have been trading since 1933, we are in our third generation of family ownership, and around 200 people work with us across nine depots in Scotland and the north of England. We represent major brands like Massey Ferguson, Valtra, Fendt, JCB, Wacker Neuson, Kubota, Honda, Stihl and Husqvarna.

The role

You’ll spend most of your day on the road, collecting and delivering machinery and equipment to customers and between our depots. You’ll operate a pickup and trailer and/or beavertail car transporter, planning each movement carefully and making sure every load is safe, secure and ready for transport.

Back at the depot, you’ll complete vehicle and trailer checks, keep paperwork accurate and help the wider team when needed. You’ll also be one of the faces our customers see, so a professional, courteous approach matters just as much as safe driving.

Requirements

What you’ll be doing

• Collect and deliver machinery and equipment to customers and between our depot locations


• Safely load, secure and unload machinery ready for transport


• Operate a pickup and trailer and/or beavertail car transporter safely and responsibly


• Carry out daily vehicle and trailer checks and report any defects


• Check that every load is correctly secured and transported in line with relevant regulations


• Complete delivery and collection paperwork accurately


• Keep vehicles and transport equipment clean and presentable


• Support the Bishopton depot sales team with general duties when required

What you’ll bring

Essential

• Previous experience in a delivery or similar driving role


• A full UK driving licence with the towing entitlement required for the vehicles and trailers used in the role


• Confident, competent driving with a strong awareness of vehicle, trailer and load safety


• Reliable and organised, with the ability to work independently and manage your day effectively


• Good communication and customer service skills, with a flexible approach to working hours and duties

• Experience towing trailers


• Experience transporting machinery, vehicles or similar equipment


• Knowledge of agricultural, groundcare or construction machinery
