This is an exciting opportunity to join a long\-standing and thriving food manufacturing business. Bennett Opie Ltd is a family\-owned business in Sittingbourne, Kent, manufacturing a range of shelf\-stable food products including pickles, home baking goods and cocktail garnishes for retail and food service customers.

We are recruiting a brand new position of Customer Accounts Advisor to support our Customers and Sales Department and all associated teams, working closely together to support the business and our amazing colleagues.

Salary: £27,000\.00 to £35,000\.00 Depending on Experience

Discretionary Bonus \- qualifying period for eligibility and based on Company and Individual Performance in the prior financial year.

The Role:

  • Manage a portfolio of wholesale customers with annual spend below £20,000, ensuring a high level of service and engagement

  • Act as a first point of contact for customer enquiries relating to:
1\. Product ranges (including new food \& beverage launches)

2\. Pricing, promotions and availability

3\. Order placement, lead times and delivery queries

  • Proactively contacting customers to upsell and extend the range of products bought across the Bennett Opie portfolio

  • Respond to and onboard new wholesale customers, providing product information, pricing structures, and order support

  • Work closely with the wider wholesale/commercial team to:
1\. Implement price increases in line with market conditions and cost changes

2\. Coordinate new product listings, ensuring accurate data and smooth launch into market

3\. Support promotional activity and seasonal campaigns

  • Support the management and sale of residual or short\-dated stock by:
1\. Identifying opportunities to clear stock efficiently

2\. Coordinating with sales, finance and supply chain teams

3\. Ensuring timely communication to customers to maximise sell\-through and reduce waste

  • working closely with our supply chains and logistics

  • Maintain accurate records of customer accounts in all aspects

  • Produce regular and ad hoc reporting using Excel and PowerPoint, including:
1\. Sales performance tracking

2\. Customer account analysis

3\. Stock and residual inventory reporting

Personal Specification

  • Essential Skills \& Experience

  • Previous experience in a sales support, sales coordination, or customer service role.

  • Good understanding of wholesale or B2B sales processes

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills with a customer\-focused approach

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. data analysis, reporting, pivot tables) and PowerPoint

  • High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling pricing and product data
Desirable Skills \& Experience
  • Experience working with Food and Beverage products

  • Understanding of supply chain and stock management processes within FMCG

  • Familiarity with CRM systems

  • Experience supporting product launches or working with product listings

  • Solutions focussed, with the ability to highlight areas of continuous improvement

  • Commercially aware with an understanding of sales drivers in FMCG
