Credit Controller

Location: Thame, Oxfordshire (Office Based)
Salary: £35,000\-38,000 per annum, depending on experience
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

About Zygology

Zygology Ltd is a leading supplier of fastening and assembly solutions to UK manufacturing and engineering businesses. Based at our headquarters in Thame, we work with customers across a wide range of industries, providing technical expertise, premium products and exceptional service.

Due to retirement, we are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Credit Controller to join our team.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the sales \& purchase ledgers and credit control function, ensuring that customer accounts are managed effectively and that cash is collected in line with agreed payment terms.

This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the confidence to build positive relationships with customers and vendors while maintaining firm credit control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issuing sales invoices and statements to customers

  • Managing and reducing aged debt

  • Chasing overdue payments by telephone, email and written correspondence

  • Maintaining accurate customer account records

  • Reconciling customer accounts and resolving invoice queries

  • Allocating incoming payments

  • Producing aged debtor reports

  • Processing incoming purchase invoices

  • Assessing and monitoring customer credit limits

  • Working closely with the sales and customer service teams to resolve account issues

  • Supporting month\-end reporting and finance administration

  • Identifying opportunities to improve credit control processes and cash flow
About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a Credit Controller or Accounts Receivable role

  • A proven track record of debt collection and account management

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Good Excel and ERP/accounting system experience, we use MS Business Central

  • A professional, customer\-focused approach

  • The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
Desirable
  • AAT qualification or equivalent

  • Experience working within a B2B environment

  • Experience dealing with engineering, manufacturing or industrial customers
