Aftermarket Sales & Service Engineer
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Aftermarket Sales \& Service Engineer to join our engineering team. This is a varied role combining hands\-on service, maintenance and repair work with responsibility for developing aftermarket sales opportunities across parts, service kits and maintenance contracts.
The successful candidate will support customers on site, fulfil sold maintenance agreements and identify opportunities to generate repeat revenue from both new and existing customers. This role would suit an engineer who enjoys practical field work but also has the confidence to speak with customers, quote work and build long\-term service relationships.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out service and repair duties on customer sites while actively developing aftermarket sales opportunities. You will build and manage a customer database, contact the installed base, quote maintenance kits, attach service contracts and help create immediate recurring revenue for the business.
You will also take ownership of supplier agreements, kit pricing, margin control, product availability and repeat\-order processes to ensure customers receive a reliable and commercially effective aftermarket service.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Carrying out practical on\-site servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs.
- Fulfilling sold maintenance contracts to a high standard.
- Identifying parts, service and maintenance opportunities during site visits.
- Building and maintaining a database of installed equipment, customers and prospects.
- Contacting existing customers, new customers and prospective purchasers to promote maintenance contracts, parts and service kits.
- Preparing quotes for parts, kits, service work and maintenance agreements.
- Supporting the development of recurring revenue through service contracts and repeat orders.
- Managing supplier agreements, kit pricing, margins, availability and repeat\-order processes.
- Working closely with the Engineering Manager to plan service activity and commercial follow\-up.
- Ensuring customer issues are handled professionally and resolved efficiently.
- Maintaining accurate records of visits, quotations, service activity and customer communications.
- Representing the company professionally while on customer sites.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in an engineering service, maintenance or field service role.
- A practical, hands\-on approach to fault finding, repair and customer support.
- The confidence to identify sales opportunities and discuss service, parts and maintenance solutions with customers.
- Strong communication skills and a professional customer\-facing manner.
- Good commercial awareness, including pricing, margin and repeat\-order opportunities.
- The ability to manage your own workload and follow up opportunities effectively.
- Good organisation and record\-keeping skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
