Courier Driver / Van Driver

Tramping Transport Ltd is a South Wales\-based logistics company looking for reliable, responsible drivers for flexible van courier work across the UK and Ireland. All work is carried out in company vans suitable for a standard UK driving licence, so no HGV or LGV licence is required.

We are mainly looking for drivers who are punctual, sensible, responsible with company vehicles and goods, and good at communicating throughout the day.

The role

You will be assigned available courier jobs by the transport team. Work varies day to day depending on customer demand, driver availability and route requirements.

Jobs may include depot collections, same\-day courier work, next\-day deliveries, multi\-site drops, single\-site drops, medical supply deliveries, pallet work, small packages and occasional house moves.

Some jobs involve loading the van yourself. Other jobs may be loaded by forklift or depot staff. The size and type of load will vary depending on the job.

Before starting, you will be shown the basic process, including how jobs are assigned and how to use the courier/logistics app.

Duties include

• Driving a company van safely and professionally


• Collecting goods from depots, businesses, homes or pickup points


• Delivering to one or more locations depending on the job


• Loading and unloading goods where required


• Using a smartphone/app to follow job details


• Communicating clearly with the transport team


• Updating the team quickly if there are delays, issues or changes


• Taking care of goods while in transit


• Completing basic delivery records and job updates


• Helping with occasional house moves or manual handling jobs

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence


• Confident driving loaded SWB \& LWB vans


• 10 penalty points or fewer


• Reliable and punctual


• Responsible with company vehicles and customer goods


• Good communication skills


• Comfortable using a smartphone/app for work


• Able to follow instructions and work independently


• Comfortable with manual handling where required


• Flexible with early starts, late finishes or longer\-distance routes

Previous courier, delivery, removals, warehouse or logistics experience is helpful but not essential. We can offer regular ongoing work to reliable drivers, depending on availability and customer demand.
