Controls and Automation Engineer
Role Summary
At ATS, our Control and Automation Engineers offer a complete project lifecycle experience from pre\-sales support, design, development, configuration, and commissioning, for various automation projects within both existing and new target customers.

Skills
- Experience of developing automation applications, Siemens or Rockwell preferred.
- The ability to convey and present ideas clearly and effectively.
- Experience in Scada, FactoryTalk, WinCC, Ignition or Wonderware preferred.
- Knowledge of functional safety systems.
- Experience with Automation hardware such as VSD’s and Control Panels.
- The ability to deliver small to medium size automation projects from design through to commissioning.
- Experience with control system design, quality, and test documentation.
- The ability to self\-organise and schedule customer works and deliverables in a timely manner to meet agreed commitments.
- The ability to self\-manage and collaborate with others to deliver projects.
- The ability to be self\-motivated.
- The ability to embrace new and existing technologies or applications.
- A desire to succeed.
- The ability to work autonomously and make key decisions when required.
- The ability to travel across the UK and potentially overseas, with driving license and own transport.
- Working in conjunction with the Business Development Manager, you will help to develop a regional hub supporting our growing client base in a designated region.
- Participating in pre\-sales opportunities with new accounts.
- Developing opportunities with existing customers.
- Collaborating with other members of the automation team to enhance our response and support capability within the designated region.
- Understanding our customers challenges and perspectives, building credibility and strong relationships, tailoring your delivery approach to fit the situation.
- Committing to delivering projects ‘right first time’ and providing input into the technical and commercial lessons learnt process.
- Demonstrating commercial awareness, spotting opportunities that may enhance the ATS proposition for our customers.
- Striving for professional development and career progression by combining existing IT knowledge with experience gained in the manufacturing industry.
