About the role

This is a senior leadership position within the business.

As Contracts Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple projects from contract award through to handover, ensuring projects are completed safely, profitably, on programme and to the highest standards of quality.

You will be the primary point of contact for clients throughout project delivery and will lead an experienced project team consisting of a Project Lead, Project Designer \& Administrator, Manufacturing \& Installation Lead and Senior Engineer.

The role is focused on leadership, project control, client management, programme management and quality assurance. You will be supported by the wider team for design, administration, procurement, manufacturing and technical delivery.

Spa Design \& Build is a specialist design and build contractor delivering luxury spa, wellness, hydrotherapy and water feature projects throughout the UK.

Working across hospitality, leisure, commercial and high\-end residential sectors, we provide a complete service from concept design through manufacture, installation, commissioning and aftercare.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the successful delivery of multiple high\-value spa and wellness projects across the UK. This role will have overall responsibility for programme management, commercial performance, client relationships, resource allocation and project delivery from contract award through to handover.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Take full ownership of multiple projects from contract award through to completion.

  • Manage projects ranging from £100,000 to £2 million in value.

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

  • Develop, manage and monitor project programmes.

  • Maintain control of project costs and profitability.

  • Lead client communications throughout project delivery.

  • Chair project meetings and progress reviews.

  • Manage subcontractors and specialist suppliers.

  • Allocate labour and resources across multiple projects.

  • Conduct regular site visits and quality inspections.

  • Resolve project issues and delivery challenges.

  • Ensure commissioning and handover processes are completed successfully.

  • Maintain high standards of quality, workmanship and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide regular project updates and reports to Directors.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a confident and experienced project leader who takes ownership and delivers results.

You will be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, leading teams, controlling budgets and maintaining strong client relationships.

You will be equally at home in a client meeting, reviewing project performance, coordinating site resources or resolving challenges to keep projects on programme.

Most importantly, you will be someone who can bring people together, make decisions, hold others accountable and ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and to the highest standards.

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant experience delivering construction, specialist contracting, M\&E, fit\-out or leisure projects.

  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects valued between £100,000 and £2 million.

  • Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for project budgets, profitability and cost control.

  • Experience leading project teams, subcontractors and site\-based resources.

  • Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong programme management and resource planning capabilities.

  • Ability to make decisions, solve problems and drive projects to successful completion.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Valid CSCS Card.
Desirable Qualifications \& Experience
  • SMSTS Qualification.

  • IOSH Managing Safely.

  • First Aid at Work.

  • JCT Contract knowledge.

  • Design \& Build contracting experience.

  • Experience within the spa, wellness, leisure or swimming pool sectors.
