Consultant Medicine for Older Adults (5 PAs)
This post provides an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team of Consultants, and wider Multi\-Disciplinary Team, who have a significant track record in delivering service change and quality improvement.
The successful candidate will work across four Medicine for Older Adults wards on the University Hospital Monklands (UHM) site, including a well\-established 24 bed Acute Frailty Unit. There are also intermediate care facilities at Coathill and Westermoffat Hospitals nearby, and with outpatient activity mainly taking place at Coathill.
Opportunity also exists for the successful candidate to work within our Hospital at Home team or to generate a community focus in line with the Lanarkshire Frailty Strategy.
The job is offered as a part\-time post on a 5 PA basis.
Proposals for additional SPA time from applicants are encouraged. In addition to the 1 PA for Non\-DCC/SPA activities, the Board is supportive of applications for additional SPA time from individuals with well\-developed ideas for improving services who are able to demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement, patient safety (including human factors training), Medical Education, Research \& Development, acting as an Appraiser, etc. Applicants who are able to demonstrate a commitment to any of the above or other areas and wishing to commence on more than 1 PA for SPA duties should discuss proposals with the identified Recruitment Lead and/or Service Manager who will consider the request in line with the successful candidate’s professional and service requirements.
