Maintenance Manager

Louis Fitzgerald Hotel \& Joel's Restaurant

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands\-on Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance and facilities function across the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel and Joel's Restaurant.

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring our hotel, restaurant, public areas, guest bedrooms, kitchens, bars, meeting spaces and back\-of\-house facilities are maintained to the highest operational, safety and presentation standards.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with department leaders, you will lead a small maintenance team, manage contractors, oversee preventative maintenance programmes and drive continuous improvements across the property.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

Leadership \& Team Management

  • Lead, coach and develop the maintenance team.

  • Create and manage weekly work schedules.

  • Foster a proactive, solutions\-focused and safety\-first culture.

  • Ensure maintenance requests are completed efficiently and professionally.
Maintenance Operations
  • Manage all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes across the hotel and restaurant.

  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues, prioritising business\-critical repairs.

  • Ensure the upkeep of all guest and staff areas including bedrooms, restaurants, bars, kitchens, meeting rooms, plant rooms and public areas.

  • Monitor and maintain building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and fire safety systems.
Facilities \& Compliance
  • Manage all service contracts and external contractors.

  • Ensure compliance with Health \& Safety, Fire Safety and statutory regulations.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, certifications and inspection logs.

  • Support audits and regulatory inspections as required.
Projects \& Property Improvements
  • Coordinate refurbishment, repair and improvement projects.

  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, sustainability and operational effectiveness.
Reporting \& Communication
  • Provide regular updates on maintenance activity, compliance requirements and project progress.

  • Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure the smooth day\-to\-day operation of the business.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager, Facilities Manager or Senior Maintenance role.

  • Experience within a hotel, hospitality, leisure, healthcare or commercial property environment.

  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and fire safety.

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.

  • Experience managing contractors and service providers.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

  • A practical, hands\-on approach with strong problem\-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of Health \& Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
